Siberian Radiance: A Rhapsody
Photographers have extolled many places for the quality of their light, and each is held to be singularly magical: the luminescence of Cape Cod, the incandescence of the Arizona desert, the luster of the Mediterranean. But the light in eastern Siberia, and especially this early winter day, is nothing short of visionary, almost apocalyptic. It is the light great painters have tried to simulate when painting halos, auras of the holy family and saints, and emanations of the spirit. How can one be depressed by Siberian weather? It may be cold but not gloomy.

I Have a Dream for Russia
The "I Have a Dream for Russia" speech contest took place in Khabarovsk on April 24, 2003. During the contest, thirteen students were given an opportunity to express their own hopes and aspirations for the future of their country. The theme of the speech contest was inspired by the widely acclaimed speech delivered by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., commonly referred to as his "I Have a Dream" speech.
