Marrying a Star Compiled by Alevtina Kozina, 3d year undergraduate, Moscow State University The English actress Joan Collins, 68 years old, got married to Percy Gibson, 35 years old. The first husband of Joan Collins was the actor Maxwell Reed whom she married in 1952. Then in 1963 it was the composer Anthony Newly. In 1972 the actress chose the producer Ron Klass and finally, in 1985, she married the singer Peter Holm. Percy Gibson, director of a theater, proposed to Joan in New York. At first they were just friends but their relationship became closer during the period when Percy Gibson was working on a new book of the actress - "Star Quality". There were about 180 guests present at the ceremony. Roger Moore, who played the part of James Bond in some films several years ago, said the newly-weds were a wonderful couple and added: "I hope Percy will wear the kilt". Gibson`s mother comes from Scotland and her son was supposed to have put on the typical attire of his country for the wedding. On the 14th of February, Charlie Sheen and his bride, Denise Richards, signed a marriage contract according to which Denise will receive a considerable sum of money ($4.000.000) if the husband is unfaithful to her one day. The fiancee knows well the glorious past of Charlie and prefers to insure herself before becoming his wife. On the 16th of March in New York Liza Minelli got married to the producer David Gest. Journalists described their wedding as the most star-studded event of the year. Elisabeth Taylor was the Maid of Honour and Michael Jackson was the best man. This marriage number one for the 48-year-old Gest and marriage number four for the 56-year-old Liza. The Regent Hotel was chosen for the incredible wedding reception where the guests were entertained by Gloria Gaynor, Whitney Huston, Diana Ross and some 50 other stars. Before coming to the wedding, the guests had to visit some Internet sites or boutiques to choose a present from the list prepared by Liza and her future husband. The cheapest object on the list was a knife for butter whose price is 65$. However be careful! Liza wished to receive 16 knives!
